About
The Orvis 30# Gel Spun Backing – 250 yds is a high-capacity, ultra-strong fly line backing ideal for big game angling. Braided from gel-spun polyethylene, it offers 60% more capacity than Dacron and is 10 times stronger than steel at the same diameter. Its small diameter allows for more yardage and reduced spool RPM during runs, while the virtually stretch-free, abrasion-resistant design ensures durability. With a low-friction surface that won’t damage guides and full strength retention in water, it remains unaffected by UV, gas, oil, salt, or detergents.
