The Orvis Mirage is a premium fly-fishing reel engineered from the ground up and precision-built in New England to withstand the harshest saltwater environments. It features a sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag system with an aggressively knurled knob that moves from zero to full drag in one turn. The patent-pending ball and ramp mechanism delivers smooth, progressive adjustments during the fight. A super large arbour increases retrieve speed and reduces line coil. Machined from 6061 T6 aluminium barstock with a military-spec type III hard coat anodised finish, it includes a titanium shaft for added strength without extra weight, an ergonomically designed aluminium handle, quick-release spool, fully radiused reel foot to prevent leader kinks, and a low-profile counterweight that won’t snag lines or fingers.
