The Smith AKM48 is a heavy-sinking minnow lure measuring 48 mm and weighing 4.1 g, designed for versatile retrieval performance. Its compact, aerodynamic body provides excellent casting distance despite the small size, while low-positioned tungsten weights improve stability and quickly restore the lure’s swimming position after movement. The action varies with retrieval speed: slow retrievals produce subtle rolling around the longitudinal axis, increasing speed creates wider lateral movement, and fast retrievals generate rapid side-to-side vibration with strong flashing from the flat sides. During pauses the lure sinks with a noticeable vibration. The AKM48 is suitable for targeting species such as perch, trout, chub, whitefish, pike, and various marine predators.
